Reasons why I need to stay abreast of new technology

I can remember being thrilled when I got my very own personal cassette player. I think I was maybe 9? And it took me ages to work out how to work the damn thing.

So how is it that Nairn (3y7m) knows how to switch on the TV, how to put on a DVD (*I* don’t even know how to do that!) and how to use my phone?! The result of the latter is that I flick through my phone only to discover photos like this:

Self portraits, Nairn style

Three years old and he’s already posting myspace-style close up self portraits complete with chocolate make up. *sigh* they grow up so fast…

Hahahaha, this made me laugh! Also, on my nursery placement, there were 3 and 4 year olds who could not only switch on, but actually use a computer. Scary!

    Go Nairn, he rocks.

I remember the girls at nursery telling me that when the computer broke Devin used to fix it. I couldn’t for the life of me work out how he knew about turning things off, waiting for a bit, and turning them back on again until I caught him watching Mo play with our various bits of technology. I suppose if he’s going to learn, he could do worse than watching a genius at work.

When I can’t get technology to work (which is a frequent occurence) I always say I need a four-year old to do it!! Great to see you posting again – I missed you!!!

It can be worse, Kate did this, but took photos of her bottom :p

Reminds me of when M got her kiddi-zoom camera for her 4th birthday in March, and then proceeded to take a million pictures of nothing…..until we found some of her bending over, taking pictures of her bottom too (same as the above comment). Hmmm. Swift words were said about not taking pictures of certain areas of people’s bodies….
