Nairn loves to draw. Seriously. One of my biggest household expenses is on rolls of lining paper which I tape to the laminate floor in the living room for Nairn to make big collages on, but most of the time his sketchings are unintelligible Jackson Pollock-esque explosions of colour.
So I really wasn’t sure how to react when I walked into the boys’ bedroom to find Nairn had created this (as always, click the picture to get a bigger version. You really need to see the bigger version to appreciate this fully):

I asked him what he thought about his picture…

He explained it all to me, inside the circle there’s the eyes, nose, mouth and hair. The big circle is the ear. Hmm.
This is how pleased I am to see it on my (newly painted!!) wall.

I’d naturally be fuming, but he looks just sooooo pleased with himself I think I’d cut him a little bit of slack (because it’s not my wall). It’s actually an incredibly impressive picture for his age! Love your thumbs down
I love Nairn. He’s my favourite and my best.
Aw his face is priceless. I’m sure yours was too when you found his creation!!
Haha brilliant. You now owe him two squillion dollas for that masterpiece!
He could have his own interior design show…I can just imagine the faces of the people when they come home to the surprise ‘Oh my G…wha?!’ could give Laurence a run for his money.
hee hee hee
omg – i love your expression and Nairn’s too!
I love your faces in that last pic. It’s so difficult to be cross when they do something that’s awful but very funny/clever/impressive at the same time..
