Little felt bunny

I read a few craft blogs, and I particularly enjoy reading Courtney’s at Two Straight Lines. When I looked over her archives and read this entry I was inspired. I’m having somewhat of a plastic panic just now, with all the talk of the damage done by phthalates to children, plastic leaching, lead in paint and the oil crisis swirling in my head I am desperate to introduce more natural toys to my children. Anyhow, I really liked Courtney’s bunnies and decided to make some of my own.

My first stop was to Paper and String to purchase some wool felt, and I dug out my embroidery thread. Please bear in mind that I am still learning how to sew and this is my first attempt at embroidering anything! I also couldn’t stuff the bunnies with beans or rice because my daughter is likely to put them in her mouth and make them damp so instead I’ve used wool roving.

This is my first bunny. A prototype if you will!
