Giveaway time!

NOW! A giveaway.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the PR company who represent Ecover asking if I’d like to review Ecover’s new range on my blog. In order to review the products honestly, they have supplied me with not only their own range but comparable products from other petrochemical-based well-known brands. I will be posting my findings tomorrow.

Before agreeing to this, I asked Ecover’s PR company to supply me with a pack to giveaway to my readers which they kindly did. The pack contains four 500ml bottles – multi surface cleaner, all purpose cleaner, power cleaner (degreaser) and window & glass cleaner.

Ecover giveaway

To be in with a chance of winning this pack, leave a comment below telling me what you do to make your house a happier home. Closing date for entries is Sunday 11th October at midnight. Now closed! Thanks for entering! Due to the weight of the bottles I’m afraid this giveaway is restricted to the UK & Eire.

At the moment leaving my home tends to make it happier!

I had a bit on the bottom of that about being crazy hormonal lady!!!

What I did to make my house a happier home? Have Sam (and Millie, and Nanny Ogg, and Killer Bees, and Tetley, and Murphy, and Olly, and Stan….)

My home is always happier when the bathroom is spotless. I love spending Sunday morning cleaning the bathroom, when the tiles gleam and the shower glass is spotless and the towels are all fluffy the house feels like a home.

That is just before i sink into a gorgeous scented bath.

I make sure my home has natural things like cats, cacti and goldfish

Hmm, what do I do to make my house a happier home? Ok, firstly, housekeeping related thing: I dry my washing outside as often as I can because the smell of line dried clothes, and especially sheets, puts a smile on even the grumpiest face.

and secondly, getting on with people related: I don’t argue with my boyfriend in the morning. no matter how much I want to. no matter how much he’s annoying me. an argument in the morning ruins your whole day and you can’t properly make up until you get home.

    Two things.

    1. Always have fresh flowers, not expensive bouquets, but a bunch of something bright. I can’t keep plants alive and my kitten eats them (thanks for the mad kitten Vonnie ;-) ) but flowers make me smile.

    2. Cook with my son. Yes, it creates mess, but we have such a nice time and such good conversations. Its a nice way to spend some time together without the gadgets distracting either of us! Well, except for kitchen gadgets, obviously.

I always have a happy home when I have something yummy smelling (bread, cakes) baking in the oven, the smell gets round the whole house.

I make my home a happier home by leaving little random notes telling my husband and son how much I love them. The best bit is when my son leaves me notes back like this one: http://gallery.jifvik.org:9999/gallery/matthew6to7yearscrafts/img_2506 and this one: http://gallery.jifvik.org:9999/gallery/matthew6to7yearscrafts/img_2516 :-)

I put some music on and have a little dance, and when my boyfriend comes home he has a little dance too. Releases all the tension of a day at work and we have a giggle too! :D
Baking a cake never hurts either!

We always have a happier home by spending good time together, baking, Scrabble, watching Marley and Me for the hundreth time. Even when we all do the housework together everybody actually is happier as we all have a shared purpose.
I love Ecover, they just get better and better with the new ranges.

    Thanks

I try to always have good healthy food available for snacking. I try to cook a lot. And I have specific says for specific household chores so they don’t stack up and things get done in a timely fashion.

  13. Anna October 2, 2009 2:45 pm

I’m a big ecover fan & have tested their new glass cleaner for them, envious of you having the entire range :p

How do I make my house a happier home? By listening to what my children & husband want, having family time with the evening meal where we talk about our days & providing cuddles on demand :)

  14. Elana October 2, 2009 3:13 pm

We do our best to keep it a happy home by laughing. A lot. And not caring if the younger one doesn’t know how to wash dishes, since he’s having fun doing it anyway. And letting the older one help with the cooking, even if the food isn’t chopped right or the onions go everywhere. But you need a fair dose of laughter to keep everything happy in the end.

We’ve had this line of products in the US for a few years. It is surprisingly good. At least, it was a surprise to me because I don’t find many cleaners that are better then bleach, baking soda and vinegar. You don’t have it in the photo but their rinse-aid for the dishwasher is very good.

  16. Jane (gtlady) October 2, 2009 5:09 pm

We (again with the royal we) don’t care if our home is messy or dusty (it makes hide and seek so much more fun!), so long as arms are ready for cuddles, and there is cake in the kitchen! (and wine in the fridge)

  17. hales October 2, 2009 5:22 pm

to make my house happy and clean i……………..

    do it myself! lol.
its far easier than argueing with the kids and re-doing my husbands half hearted attempts!

i always remember that this is the time i have to care for my children and i am glad i am able to care for them for even this short time while they are young. that helps me through even the boring jobs!

  18. Katie October 2, 2009 5:25 pm

How to make my place a happier home? Have lots of fibrey goodness around of course!

  19. Margo October 2, 2009 10:54 pm

I open the windows – even when it’s colder than charity outside – for as long as I can stand. My ma instilled a love of fresh air in me, and there’s something about getting a good blast of it that turns the house into something better to live in.

  20. Deirdre T October 2, 2009 11:51 pm

To make the house happier? Right now I would make it happier by unpacking the stuff from the emptied kitchen and putting it all back. Particularly the coffee maker (plus grinder); particularly as I’ve promised myself that I won’t buy more coffee until I drink all the beans lurking around the kitchen.

  21. Kirsty October 3, 2009 6:36 am

I guess we do it by not worrying too much about the housework. Sometimes the place is a tip, sometimes it’s spotless. If time is short I’d much rather be doing something with the kids than cleaning the bathroom.

  22. Alix of Bigbluebed October 3, 2009 8:06 am

Well I hate house work but to have a clean house does make me happy.
But having my lovely man, and daughter and funny cat make me even happier. Love makes a happy home.

  23. Eileen October 4, 2009 9:41 am

My home is happier when I’m not a screaming, rage-filled harpy. So I cuddle my guinea pigs, as they have replaced all others in my affections. I mean the childrens guinea pigs, of course.

  24. Kerry October 4, 2009 6:59 pm

Vonnie how do I follow this blog from mine? Im a bit new to all this!

  25. sherie buck October 4, 2009 7:49 pm

I love to have flowers in each room, and make the rooms smell nice. It makes me happy to have a nice clean kitchen too.
If friends call round I always make them welcome. And what makes my home the happiest is my lovely dogs.

  26. Pennie October 4, 2009 10:16 pm

How do I make our house a happier home ? I don’t make a fuss about an untidy house, just make sure it’s clean enough to be healthy…oh and buy bicarb in bulk…

  27. Ailbhe October 4, 2009 10:33 pm

What do I do to make our house a happier home? I make sure I don’t do a disproportionate amount of housework, so I don’t get resentful. I use a LOT of bright colours. And I apologise slightly more than I ask for apologies.

  28. Kim October 5, 2009 12:29 pm

We have a happier home when I ignore the mess and spend my time baking or sewing.

  29. Kerry October 5, 2009 6:24 pm

How do I make my home happier? Lovely rockstar soap from lush in the bathroom which makes the whole upstairs smell gorgeous, Clean kitchen and living room with ots of toys strewn about and high school musical on the stereo so we can all dance.

  30. Beady Pool October 5, 2009 8:32 pm

I’ve been trying to make a happier and healthier home for a few years now. I love the Ecover range esp the limescale remover, but also use Method – their window cleaner is great.
For me though it is fresh flowers, no need to be expensive just fresh flowers – my decadence and they keep me happy :)

  31. Nicola/smilernpb October 6, 2009 10:08 am

To make my home a happier home, I bake the little ones cookies, they love them! And we turn off the TV and listen to the radio quite a bit too….makes ‘mornings before school’ a lot quicker!

  32. Lixie October 6, 2009 12:37 pm

Putting up pictures makes such a difference. Cheap frames can be got from charity shops or pound shops and even just one picture takes it from just a place to shelter to a home.

  33. Saffie October 8, 2009 2:19 pm

Fresh flowers and plenty of chocolate.

  34. Clare October 8, 2009 11:28 pm

Keep everyone well fed! Makes all the difference x

  35. Nadia October 11, 2009 5:08 pm

I light incense or scented candles. It always seems to get me motivated and relaxed all at once :)
