Oh I LOVE these cups and saucers. I've been hunting in my local charity shops for something similar but no such luck. Think they are fantastic for tea parties. Or you could smash up the remaining pieces of the red and white set and make a mosaic table or something...

I quite like the smashed set. It looks like they were meant for espresso although I suppose you could save them as a toy tea set if you didn't want to turn them into candles. I rarely go to thrift shops but I often think I should. There's probably some fantastic finds that I'm missing out on. (Although perhaps I've leave the kidlets at home lest I end up buying something I don't want.) ;)

Just saw your most recent tweet and didn't want to reply on twitter.

What an awful time you're going through. I don't know if you're a believer or not, but even if you're not, God can still give you his peace. So I'm praying for you. x x x

And when I go chazzing (I heard that term the summer that I was 18 and loved it, although few people know what it means!) I look for nice fabrics to recycle, old favourite books and children's books, classic games and quirky mugs. Oh, and I always look for Levi jeans. My Dad seems to have huge success with chazzing - he finds new Armani suits (in fact, I think all of his stunning suits are from charity shops); quality, hardly-worn jeans; and even new shoes! I don't know how he does it.

This comment turned into something longer than I expected!

I love to charity shop!!

I always head for the children's clothes first, closely followed by bed linen and curtains looking for interesting fabrics to repurpose, and I always ask if they have any buttons!!

I go into charity shops all the time. I love them and have or years. I look at EVERYTHING.

My mum got all of our stuff for years from Paddy's Market and I still have that heady glee feeling when I see things in a big jumble knowing there's something in there thats amazing!

Paul despairs, his mum thinks I'm mental but me and my mum travel glasgow wide to the good cheap ones. Some of the Partick ones are amazing!

I look for everything. I once found a Gocco screen printing kit for $3US. I've bought some great jackets, skirts, lots of yarn, dishes, furniture.

We have a few charity shops in town & I usually go into at least 1 each time I go in. I look at books, videos, kids clothes, toys & occasionally clothes for me. I don't find any clothes that fit me all that often.

I'm actually obsessed with charity shops -- you've seen my latest two purchases (the pirate teapot and terrifying crab bank) but it's really an ongoing addiction. I've got a total wide-on for photo frames, and have 17 different ones on my living room wall, filled with lovely pics of my favourite people. There's also a charity shop in Paisley that I've bought some amazing granny-chic dresses from, and just about all the crockery in my flat is from chazzing too, not to mention books, dvds etc.

I have a major problem!
