A few weeks ago, the fantastically talented Apryl from Meridian Ariel offered to send me an ‘Interweave Knits’ knitting magazine that she had going spare. I gratefully accepted her offer and was touched to find she’d slipped a few extras into the package.
The lovely yarn that she sent is being coveted by me since I rarely knit things for myself, but will you look at this gorgeous illustration?
The other day on Twitter I posed the question, “How do you differentiate between friends and acquaintances?” It struck me that I know a lot of people and I was finding it difficult to define these relationships, especially because in some cases – like with Apryl – I haven’t met these friends face-to-face. So how do you define a friend? A friend to me is someone who knows what’s going on in your life, who will avail themselves when they know you need them and who will show their feelings for you. So Apryl, I am thrilled and honoured to call you my friend and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your considerate and thoughtful gift.
This little lady is going to sit at my desk and hopefully inspire me to great things!

How lovely! Her illustrations are very, very good aren’t they!
It’s a funny thing, this knowing people when you’ve not met them isn’t it! I’ve met a few people blogging who I would absolutely consider to be my friends. x
oh god Vonnie i’m a puddle of tears now.. bless you.. you are lovely and deseved a little cheering up… and you most definitly need to knit yourself something pretty. I have used that subline thin fluffy stuff on big needles to do a very open weave thin fluffy fairy scarflett for my MIL and GrandMIL who loved them. Right must wipe away my tears and go call my Mom and Dad.
I love Apryl’s illustrations – you are a very lucky lady!
That’s a lovely picture! Apryl’s on of my favourite cyber-bloggy people too and I’m also a lucky recipient of one of her drawings because I was her swap partner for the Fantasy swap
